EPL: Everton Continue Dominant Run

Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton maximum points from their first four games as they maintained their incredible start to the season with a solid 4-1 victory over Brighton.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring for the Toffees by heading home his ninth goal of the season.

Jordan Pickford’s howler let Brighton back into the game as the Everton keeper’s fumble was converted by Neal Maupay.

Yerry Mina’s restored Everton’s lead and former Real Madrid midfielder James struck twice before Yves Bissouma pulled a late goal back.

Everton will head into an exciting Merseyside derby against Liverpool after the international break. With the form of both teams, the game promises to be a cracker. Who do you think will take the day?

Newcastle 3 – 1 Burnley

Newcastle moved up to sixth in the Premier League with a comfortable win over Burnley.

The Clarets, who were well below par particularly in the first half are now 19th in the table, after losing their opening three games in the top flight for the first time since 1927-28.

Allan Saint-Maximin opened the scoring for the hosts with a low drive into the bottom right corner.

While Burnley rallied and levelled via Ashley Westwood’s superb volley into the corner.

Newcastle quickly wrestled back control of the game and Saint-Maximin’s purposeful run down the right gave Callum Wilson a tap-in.

And the forward added his second – and Newcastle’s third – from a penalty after Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope fouled Ryan Fraser after misscontrolling James Tarkowski’s backpass.
