EPL: Fulham inflicts sixth home defeat on Liverpool

Liverpool, the defending champions of the English Premier League, maintained their sudden downward spiral at home as a lone goal saw Fulham hand the Reds their sixth consecutive defeat. 

Mario Lemina’s goal on the stroke of half-time gave the visitors a deserved win as the crucial three points saw them draw level on 26 points with 17th-placed Brighton, giving their survival hopes a huge boost.

Fulham’s first win at Anfield since 2012, while champions Liverpool is now struggling to finish in the top four after another spiritless performance at home.

The Reds, who won the title last season by 18 points, had gone 68 home league matches unbeaten before their current run started with a loss to Burnley in January.

Jurgen Klopp’s side has now failed to win their last eight home games, and everyone is wondering how Anfield turned from a fortress to giveaway joint in just a split second? 

What’s happening at Liverpool, and how long will this go on? That’s the question on the lips of every football enthusiastic at the moment. 

Liverpool will next be in action Champions League on Wednesday as they look to see off RB Leipzig after establishing a 2-0 first-leg lead in the round of 16 ties. At the same time, Fulham will visit League leaders Manchester City next Saturday.
