EPL: Late Defeat to Brighton Puts United’s champions league hopes on the Line

Alexis Mac Allister converted a 99th-minute penalty to throw Manchester United’s hopes of booking a champions league stop for next season with a top-four finish in the line.

The game, a rematch of the FA Cup semi-final which United won by penalties, looked set to end in a draw, till Luke Shaw’s handball gifted the hosts a penalty deep into added time.

The defeat leaves Erik Ten Hag’s side fourth on the log, four points ahead of fifth-placed Liverpool, while Brighton moved up to sixth, four points behind Liverpool.
