EPL: Manchester United edge past Brighton with come back victory

Manchester United came from a goal down to seal a vital 2-1 victory over Brighton at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Brighton took an early lead off to a bright start when former United striker Danny Welbeck nodded in the opener, thirteen minutes into the game, as the visitors took advantage of Manchester United’s lacklustre first-half performance.

However, after the break, as we’ve come to see a few times over, Manchester United picked up momentum and soon their efforts paid off as Marcus Rashford’s in the 62nd-minute goal brought the Red Devils back into the game.

The game remained even and looked set to end that way until Mason Greenwood headed in what would be the winner for Manchester United in the 83rd minute.

Manchester United will be looking to improve on Sunday’s performance when they took Spanish side Granda in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final on Thursday before travelling to Tottenham to face former manager, Jose Mourinho, on Sunday, in search of some revenge for the embarrassing 6-1 defeat meted on them by Spurs in the first half of the season.

Meanwhile, Brighton will play host to Everton following Monday.
