EPL: Manchester United succumb to defeat against Manchester City

Manchester City capitalized on a very lackluster performance from City Rivals, Manchester United as they picked up all three points with a 2-0 victory at Old Trafford to further mount pressure on Ole Gunnar and his struggling side.

United got off to a terrible start when Eric Bailly turned Joao Cancelo’s cross into his own net after seven minutes to give the Citizens’ an early lead.

Manchester United keeper,  David de Gea, pulled off a brilliant performance to keep City off from doubling the deficit, but there was only so much the Spaniard could do,  Bernardo Silva took advantage of  Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw’s horrible defending to sneak in another Cancelo cross at the far post, just at the nick of half time.

After the break, United weren’t any better and though Pep Guardiola’s men didn’t increase the goal margin, and  though City’s win may not have been as damaging as Liverpool’s 5-0 victory in United’s last home league game,  it was embarrassing enough, to push the frustrated home fans into booing their side.
The result took City above Liverpool into second in the Premier League while fifth-placed United are nine points behind leaders Chelsea, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley.
