EPL: Manchester United suffer humiliating 4-1 defeat to Watford

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s woes as Manchester United manager stretched further as his team suffered a devastating 4-1 defeat to Watford in their very first game after the international break.

A rather organized Watford rallied around a seemingly lost Manchester United in the first half and after seeing two penalties get saved by David De Gea, the hosts eventually put two goals past the helpless Spaniard.

After the break, The Red Devils showed some glimpses of improvement which soon paid off as substitute, Donny van de Beek, pulled one goal back for the visitors in the 77th minute.

But the situation worsened for the visitors when skipper, Harry Maguire, got sent off following a second booking, and whatever hope of a comeback Manchester United had all come crashing down, as Watford went on to score two more goals in what can only be described as an injury-time rampage.

The defeat sent United down the table to the seventh position with 17 points, 10 points behind leaders, Chelsea.
