EPL: Manchester United suffers defeat in season opener.

The premier league started last weekend, but Manchester Unitedbwere given an extra week of rest because of their involvement in Europa.

And upon their return, the Red Devils got off to a dreadful start as Wilfried Zaha scored a brace against his former club to hand Crystal Palace a 3-1 win at Old Trafford.

The Eagles have now won their first two games of a Premier League season for the first time and on their last two visits to United.

Andros Townsend sent in a Jeffrey Schlupp pass to open the scoring seven minutes into the game

Crystal Palace maintained the lead till the break.

After the break, a controversy ensued as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men felt aggrieved with the nature of Palace’s second goal from the penalty spot as Victor Lindelof was harshly punished for a handball.

David De Gea saved the spot kick from Jordan Ayew’s but it was ruled out by VAR before Zaha converted the retaken penalty.

The Red Devils trailed behind Crystal palace with those two goals till Debutant Donny Van de Beek who came off the bench to replace Paul Pogba got one back in the 80th minute.

However, whatever hopes Manchester United had of levelling things up was lost five minutes later when Wilfred Saha made it three and all but sealed the victory for Palace.

The result isn’t what Manchester United fans had hoped for and the furious and frustrated fans made sure to make their position known.
