EPL: United’s woes worsen with defeat to Newcastle

Newcastle United handed Manchester United their 10th defeat in 21 EPL games under manager, Ruben Amorim, further worsening the things for the struggling Red Devils.

Having played out a 1-1 draw at halftime, courtesy of Sandro Tonali’s opener and Alejandro Garnacho’s equalizer, Newcastle, who were without their sick manager, Eddie Howe, came back after the break and totally dominated the visitors.

A brace from Harvey Barnes and one more goal Bruno Guimaraes did the damage on United, while strengthening Newcastle’s chances of clinching a Champions League position for next season.

United on the other hand, are stuck in the second half of the table and will now move their attention to Thursday’s return leg against Lyon in the Europa League.
