Euro 2020; Denmark book semifinals spot with victory over Czech Republic

Denmark saw off the Czech Republic in their quarterfinals game on Saturday to book a semi-finals spot in the Euro 2020, as their impressive fairytale journey in the tournament continues.

The world of football has watched the Danes show incredible strength and resilience to march on in the tournament since the trauma of their opening game, in which midfielder Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest.

In continuation of the dominance that shot them into the quarterfinals, they took the lead five minutes into the game thanks to Thomas Delaney’s header. Kasper Dolberg doubled the lead before halftime.

After the break, Patrik Schick pulled one back for the Czech Republic, give them hope of a possible dramatic turnaround, many of wish we’ve seen in the tournament.

However, that wasn’t the case as the Dane stood rock solid to ensure victory and set up a semi-final clash against England, who thrashed Ukraine 4-0 later on Saturday.
