England kicked off their Euro 2020 campaign with a win over Croatia, thanks to Raheem Sterling’s lone goal in front of their supporters at Wembley.
The game was a highly anticipated one, with both sides boasting of some outstanding players. However, it didn’t quite live up to the hype and stayed uneventful for the most part and goalless in the first half.
The only goal of the star-studded Group D encounter came in the 57th when Manchester City’s Sterling’s, found the back of the net with his first goal in a major tournament.
For their next test, England will play host to Scotland at Wembley on Friday, while Croatia will be looking to put their frustrating and uninspiring display behind them when they play the Czech Republic at Hampden Park on the same day.
