Juventus secured a hard-earned 1-0 victory over Sporting Lisbon in Thursday’s Europa League Quarter Finals first-leg encounter in Turin.
Defender Federico Gatti scored what would eventually become the winner for the Old Lady in the 73rd minute.
Both teams went head to head and Sporting could have leveled things late on but for the heroics of substitute keeper, Perin, who pulled a double save to keep the Portuguese side at bay.
Perin came on just before the break to replace Wojciech Szczesny, who left the pitch in tears while complaining of discomfort in his chest.
Juventus has confirmed that the Polish international is fine, following checks.
Next Thursday, Juve will travel to Lisbon with hopes of qualifying for the semis where they’ll face either Manchester United or Sevilla.
