FA Cup: Arsenal left it “Extra” late against Newcastle

FA Cup defending champions Arsenal had to rely on two Extra-time goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to get past a tough Newcastle side, out of the third round and into the FA Cup fourth round.

In-form Smith Rowe, who came in as a second-half substitute, broke the deadlock in the 109th minutes, shortly after a red card was rightly rescinded.

Aubameyang put his name on the scoresheet with a slick tap in the finish.

The Gunners, who have won the FA Cup on a record 14 occasions, go into the fourth-round draw seeking a 15th FA Cup title, having being knocked out in the third round just once in the past 25 years.
