Fireboy And Reekado Banks face heavy criticisms over Ozumba Mbadiwe Remix

Nigerian artists, Reekado Banks and Fireboy DML are facing heavy criticisms from music lovers on Twitter, following Reekado Banks’ Ozumba Mbadiwe remix which dropped on Feb. 4, 2022.

Reekado Banks premiered his first single for 2022, a remix of his successful song, ‘Ozumba Mbadiwe’, featuring YBNL talent, Fireboy DML. Now, his fans are asking the question, “Is there a Need For Reekado Banks To Remix ‘Ozumba Mbadiwe’ With Fireboy DML?”

Fans of the singers took to Twitter to express their disappointment over the remix. They insisted that the remix of the song wasn’t necessary and Reekado Banks just wasted their anticipation, time, excitement and megabytes.

Many agreed that Reekado Banks should have just left the song instead of dragging Fireboy who, according to them, struggled on the remix.

While others revealed that they actually liked Fireboy on the remix because he aced his verse and almost Outshined Reekado Banks like Ed Sheeran did on PERU remix. But this group were actually forced to agree with the first group that the remix wasn’t necessary because Fireboy’s verse wasn’t even authentic or inspiring enough.

“Ozumba Mbadiwe’ is a masterpiece on its own, considering the quality of production P. Prime gave the song Reekado Banks’ lyrics, the arrangement and the fact that he threw a jab at Burna Boy and addressed #ENDSars.

“The remix for the song didn’t bring out any outstanding quality of Reekado Banks and Fireboy that we didn’t already know of. The remix itself is more like adding a new verse to an old song”, withinnigeria reported.
