Portugal crushed Switzerland 6-1 to ease their way into the quarter final of the World Cup.
Youngster, Goncalo Ramos, who started ahead of a benched history was the hero of the night, bagging a hat-trick, the first so far at the tournament.
Ramos’ opener and Pepe strike gave Fernando Santos’ men a 2-0 lead at half time.
After the break, the Portuguese side picked up from where they stopped, with Switzerland squeezing in a consolation in the 58th minute when they were already 4 goals down. .
Ronaldo came off the bench and scored but it was ruled off side, before Rafael Leao went in to seal off the damage with the sixth goal in extra time.
Portugal’s next challenge is the quarter final clash against Morocco on Saturday, for a spot in the semi final.
