Ganduje Relieves NNPC/AKK Gas Chair Duty

The Governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje, has sacked the Chairman NNPC/AKK Gas pipeline project and Gas industrialisation committee,(KNSG-PDIC) Engr. Muazu Magaji, over his poor performance and insubordination.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Muhammed Garba, on Monday.

Engr. Magaji was appointed in April 2020 with the hope that he would deliver the trust laid in his hands by effectively supervising the execution of the project.

Governor’s actions follow Magaji’s failure to meet the said task. The statement revealed that he could not measure up with the challenging job, poor performance and insubordination.

It further stressed that the Chairman did not live up to expectations in carrying out his responsibility to oversee the project. The government had attached a significant premium.

Part of the statement reads, “His leadership of the committee, amongst which is to coordinate, in close partnership with the NNPC on timely implementation of the project, has not been forthcoming to achieve the desired objective.”

The sacked Chairman was asked to hand over the committee’s affairs to the Deputy Executive Chairman, Aminu Babba-Dan’Agundi, The Sarkin Dawaki Babba, to deliver its mandate.

Meanwhile, Governor Ganduje also lauded Magaji for his served period and wished him success in his future endeavour.

Recall that in April 2020, Governor Ganduje had sacked Mr Magaji as commissioner of Works and Infrastructure for celebrating the death of Abba Kyari, the late chief of staff to president Buhari. He was later reappointed to serve as Chairman of the AKK committee, a position he is now relieved of.
