Guitar Rock Star Eddie Van Halen, Dies Of Throat Cancer At Age 65 Years.

American musician Edward Lodewijk Van Halen has passed on, Eddie was the main songwriter and lead guitarist of the American rock band Van Halen, which he co-founded with his brother Alex van Halen the band drummer and Mark Stone the bassist, and David Lee Roth singer, in 1972.

The rock star was said to have developed cancer of the mouth, which he thought he got from holding metal picks in his mouth and spent half of his career years flying from the united state to Germany for treatment.

Eddie was said to have been diagnosed with mouth cancer in 2000 and later had a third of his tongue removed due to his heavy smoking.

The 65 years old rock legend passed on, on Tuesday 6th October after battling with cancer for years. his family announced on social media

Eddie got married twice, first was Hollywood tv actress Valerie Bertinelli in 1981 and later got divorced in 2007 birthing his only child Wolfgang van Halen.

He later got married to his second wife Jane Liszewski in 2009.

His first wife Valerie took to her twitter page to share her tribute upon his death.

His son Wolfgang also took to his twitter page to drop his own tribute to his father

Grammy academy also took to their twitter page to drop a heartfelt message to the rock star.

“The power just engulfs you. You just feel it, it makes you vibrate. That’s how #EddieVanHalen, who passed away today after a battle with throat cancer, described the guitar, an instrument that defined his life and elevated rock ‘n roll as an art form.”

All through Eddie Van Halen’s career, he was seen as a guitar guru, who always put his heart into whatever thing he is doing, as he has contributed to lots of albums by prominent and notable personalities in the industry, the likes of Michael Jackson on his “beat it” single in 1982, as well as Brian May, LL Cool J and lots more.
