“I reacted badly because I was angry”- Taaooma apologizes to Nigerian Youths

The vice president of Nigeria, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, hostee Nigerian skit makers under the umbrella of the Nigeria Skits Industry Awards (NSIA) on Wednesday, November 3, in Aso Rock, Abuja.

Skit makers at the meeting include Maryam Apaokagi (Taooma); Josh Alfred (Josh2funny); Ayo Ajewole (Woli Agba); Adebamiro Adeyanju (Mr. Hyenana), Adeoye Adeyemi Elesho (Yemi Elesho), among others.

Among the issues discussed were the issue of policemen and other antigraft agencies harassing the Nigerian youths, the popular Twitter ban, and improving the Nigerian public education system and other issues surrounding Nigerian Youths.

While addressing them, Osinbajo commended the creativity of the skit makers. A statement made public by Laolu Akande stated that he said:

“I strongly believe that what our young people are doing and what they are capable of, is what will lead our country to where we are meant to be. The future is not tomorrow, it is already here and we can see it from just everything you are doing, the global acclaim that you are getting; young people like yourselves, doing something good.”

The visit was greeted with mixed feelings by Nigerians, as they felt the comedians went to see the Vice President because of their selfish interest.

Some of the comments made some of the comedians angry and they reacted harshly to the situation. Taaooma who vent her anger on some Nigerians later came out today to apologize for the way she reacted to the issue, she made it known that she’s sorry for her reply and action and she acted out of anger.

She wrote; “Hey guys, I’m apologizing once again. I had clear intentions and nothing more”.
