Igbo youths to the political parties-Zone presidency to SouthEast


Igbo youths under the umbrella of Nigeria Youths Organization (NYO) southeast zone have appealed to all registered political parties in the country to zone their presidential ticket to the south East zone ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The appeal was made by the National Vice President of NYO, South East Zone, Comrade Okorie Chukwumaobi Okorie, at a press conference in Abakaliki

The youths said the gesture will help for a peaceful transition of power that will usher in Nigeria President of Igbo extraction to compensate the zone which they said has suffered severe political marginalization since the 1960s.

He emphasized that there was a great need to allow the zone to govern the country like other zones have done to engender equity, justice, and fairness in the nation’s politics.
NYO, therefore, called on governors of the zone and indeed all political office holders from the zone to be proactive in leadership and representations to justify the confidence reposed on them by the people warning that the youths can no longer condone poor performance from them.

The NYO also called on the government to convoke national youths conference to dialogue with the youths of the nation to move the nation forward.
Comrade Okorie further called on President Muhammadu Buhari to consider the creation of the National Youth Development Commission (NYDC) and the building of the National Centre for Youth Development in the country.

”That we the teeming members of Nigeria Youth Organisation (NYO) South East Zone as a region do call on the Leadership of all the Political Parties in Nigeria to zone their Presidential Tickets to southeast Zone to pave way for the emergence of a Nigerian President of South Eastern extraction Come 2023 in the interest of Peace, Love, Oneness, Fairness, Equity, Unity, Fair Treatment and Natural Justice.
”We cannot thankless the Honourable Minister for Youth and Sports Development Mr. Sunday Dare for his proactive Leadership which saw Mr. President’s approval for the establishment of NIGERIA YOUTH INVESTMENT FUND to the tone of 75billion Naira the first ever since the history of Nigerian State.
