Ikpeazu to file a lawsuit against Onwusibe over alleged threatening his life

Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, the governor of Abia State, has pledged to file a lawsuit against Ginger Onwusibe, member of the state assembly, Isiala Ngwa North State constituency, for allegedly threatening his life.

At an event in the Obingwa council area, Onwusibe, who left the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the Labour Party, LP, where he is running for the federal seat for Isiala Ngwa North/Isiala Ngwa South in the 2023 election, allegedly threatened the governor’s life. However, the lawmaker has denied the allegation, insisting that he never threatened Ikpeazu’s life.

The Police in Abuja invited Onwusibe last week due to the accusation.

Ihesinachi Okite, the campaign’s head of media and publicity, revealed that when Ginger Onwusibe’s boss arrived at the police headquarters in Abuja, he was informed that a petition had been submitted against him by a lawyer on behalf of Governor Ikpeazu.

He said, “Ginger told them that he never threatened the governor and demanded to see the video. They claimed they didn’t have the video.”

Ikpeazu claimed that he would take his legal rights against Onwusibe in court to a logical end in a statement by his chief press secretary, Onyebuchi Ememanka.

Ikpeazu swore that he would no longer allow the predicament to persist since no sane person, much less an elected governor of a state, would stand by as his security was put in peril and do nothing.
