“I’m Not Stupid To Fight” – Jim Iyke Reveals His Fight With Uche Maduagwu Was Orchestrated

To the surprise of many, Jim Iyke has disclosed that his fight with Uche Maduagwu which took place in August 2021 was orchestrated to promote one of his movies, “Bad Comment”.

Back in August 2021, Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke was caught on tape assaulting fellow actor, Uche Maduagwu. Uche Maduagwu provoked Jim Iyke in a post where he trolled the actor, implying that acting isn’t his only source of wealth and he is likely a ‘scammer’ or a ‘ritualist’ because of his exorbitant lifestyle.

Jim Iyke managed to trace Maduagwu to his location and confronted him about his comments on social media. The confrontation progressed into a fight with people struggling to hold back Jim Iyke as he pounced on Maduagwu.

However, in an interview with Chude, Jim Iyke disclosed that the entire drama with Uche Maduagwu was orchestrated to promote his movie, “Bad Comment”.

He revealed that the idea came to mind after he already spent over N20m in the production of that film and people were still viewing it with a certain degree of cynicism. But having plotted a scandal, people immediately started streaming the movie.

Speaking with Chude, Jim Iyke said;

“It was orchestrated. I wanted them to paint a picture of what it is like in the social media ecosystem. I can orchestrate anything and you would perceive it. It is about perception.

That would show you that, that world is so real. There is nothing that exists in that world. I called the man, we had an understanding, paid very well for it, wrote the script, called Moses in and we shot it and we’re about to release the ending of it. I’m not stupid. I will never make that kind of mistake.

We buried over N20m in the production of that film and people were still viewing it with a certain degree of cynicism. Immediately there was a scandal, it caught fire.

 I even called my sister the day before we shot it and said it would backfire and she said no it won’t.”
