Inter Milan see off Juventus to win Coppa Italia

A resilient Inter Milan came from behind to defeat Juventus and clinch a first Coppa Italia since 2011 at the Stadio Olimpico.

Nicolo Barella’s stunning strikeput Inter ahead after six minutes of play, a lead they maintained into the break.

Two quick goals second half goals from Alex Sandro and Dusan Vlahovic turned the game around, putting the defending champions, Juventus, in pole position for record 15 time triumph.

However, in an even more dramatic turn of events, Hakan Calhanoglu’s 80th-minute penalty sent the game into extra time, before Ivan Perisic grabbed a double in three minutes to gift Inter the cup for the eighth time, putting an end to Juve’s hope of a trophy this season.
