Jim Iyke paid N4.8m to ‘beat’ me in order to promote his movie – Uche Maduagwu

Controversial actor and social media critic, Uche Maduagwu has backed Jim Iyke’s revelation that their fight in August 2021 was merely orchestrated to promote Jim Iyke’s movie, “Bad Comments”.

Jim Iyke in an interview with Chude said that he is not one to jeopardize his career just in the middle of one of his biggest hits. He further revealed that beating Maduagwu was orchestrated and that he paid Maduagwu after they reached an agreement.

He said, “I called the man, we had an understanding, I paid very well for it, rolled out the script, called Moses in, we shot it and we’re about to release the ending of it. I’m not stupid. I will never make that kind of mistake.

We buried over N20m in the production of that film and people were still viewing it with a certain degree of cynicism. Immediately there was a scandal, it caught fire,” the actor revealed.

“I even called my sister the day before and she said that it will backfire. I said ‘No’. I understand people’s mindsets. They have a propensity for gossip and bad news. There’s no way it would backfire.”

However, having made the big revelation, Maduagwu took to Instagram to brag, as he called himself the biggest brand influencer.

“He paid me N3.6 million to promote Bad Comments movie and added N1.2 million after it went viral. I’m not just the most talked-about movie star in Africa. I’m the biggest brand influencer,” Maduagwu boasted.

The actor added, “Jim Iyke is like a big brother to me. He saw potentials in me. Today, Bad Comments movie became the biggest cinema film in 2021 because he saw my brand influencing power and worked with me. Mr. Moses is a great director too. I influence brands to success because I am the most talked-about movie star for Africa.”

Right after Maduagwu’s disclosure, Movie Director, Moses Inwang shared behind-the-scene videos of the staged fight between Nollywood actors, Jim Iyke and Uche Maduagwu.

Inwang captioned the videos, “Na me direct that fight.”
