JJC Skillz Announces End of His Marriage To Actress Funke Akindele

After several rumours, Nigerian songwriter, record and television producer, Abdul Bello better known as JJC Skills has announced the dissolution of his marriage to Funke Akindele.

Rumours of their marital crisis were first started out by Instagram bloggers cutie_juls and Tosin silverdam, who gave their different accounts of their misunderstanding.

According to Cutie_juls, JJC Skillz, before joining Funke Akindele in Nigeria had an initial understanding that the SceneOne production would be a family business having the duo as certified owners. However, Funke Akindele has never stopped acting and making it clear that she’s the owner of SceneOne production and only allowed JJC Skillz to have a decent amount of money.

Blogger Tosin on his own part confirmed the rumours by sharing a video of one of JJC Skillz’s sons, Benito who dropped more bombshells about the actress. The young man noted that the much-loved actress is not actually what people think she is. He also added that he lived in their house for two years and it was a horror.

The couple earlier dismissed these reports and tagged them to be mere rumours. The duo even attended the recent African Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA) Gala together.

Also, Funke’s decision to celebrate JJC Skillz on Father’s Day also quenched rumours of the marital crisis. Funke in her Instagram post described JJC as a wonderful and caring father and went on to appreciate and pray for him.

In a rather swift turn, finally admitted that the marriage has been having issues for two years. JJC stated “I know I have tried my best to fix things but I believe it is beyond repair now”, and that he is looking at how they can co-parent with ease and manage their joint business.

“Dear friends and family I need to let you know that Funke and I have separated. While it lasted, we shared a lot of things together and have created 2 beautiful children. The last two years have been extremely difficult. The last two years have been extremely difficult for us. I know I have tried my best fix things but I believe it is beyond repair now. 3 months ago, and at Funke’s insistence. I moved out of the house and apart from AMVCA have not been able to get Funke to sit down in an amicable matter to discuss the future of our relationship. I’m making this announcement so that the public is clear that we both are pursuing separate lives. We still have issues that need to be addressed such as custody and wellbeing of our children which is paramount as well as business interests which need to be disentangled but I have no doubt that these will be resolved one way or the other”.

News of their split triggered several reactions and Twitter users opined that when a man marries a woman who is way richer and more powerful than him, he would either be overpowered or controlled.

Mayowa : “How do u Box a man for this long because u own scene one production. U own a large stake of the business, yes fine. But it doesn’t make u alpha and Omega of the marriage”.
