Jorginho joins Arsenal from Chelsea on transfer deadline day

Italian midfielder, Jorginho has made a quite shocking move from Chelsea to their city rivals, Arsenal in a 12 million pounds deal. 

He passed a medical on Tuesday and signed an 18-month contract with the option of one more year for Mikel Arterta’s side. 

Jorginho becomes Arsenal’s third signing of the January window, with the club having previously bought Poland defender Jakub Kiwior from Spezia and Belgium striker Leandro Trossard from Brighton.

The 31-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Napoli in 2018, was in the last six months of his Blues’ contract, before joining Arsenal.

He played 213 games for the Blues, score 29 goals and registered nine assists.

During his time with Chelsea, the Italian won a Champions League, a Europa League, a Super Cup and a Club World Cup.
