Kanye Announces Plans for his own Funeral
Kanye West has once again stirred public and sparked fresh waves of concern after sharing detailed and deeply personal funeral plans on social media. In a string of posts on X (formerly Twitter), the rapper, now legally known as Ye, laid out his unconventional wishes
According to the posts, Kanye wants his funeral to last a full week, with 10-hour services each day allowing mourners to speak freely, without interruption. He further requested to be embalmed and displayed at his late mother’s home, where visitors would be charged an entry fee, the proceeds of which, he said, should be used to “enrich all the blocks around.”

In his words:
“My funeral needs to be at least a week long. A 10 hour service every day so people can speak aaaall the way through. It actually needs to be nooo limit. Embalm me. Put me on display at my mama’s house and let people visit me. Charge people to come in and use the money to enrich all the blocks around.”
He followed this with:
“Funerals should be where people can talk as long as they want but also people can leave when they want.”
What started as a surreal thread quickly turned darker when Ye posted a cryptic message, hinting at possible threats against his life:
“Why do people be calling you to kill you. I be like it doesn’t work that way.”
This disturbing message combined with his recent online tirades targeting Kim Kardashian, Jay-Z, and Beyoncé has fans and followers worried about his state of mind. While Kanye has a long history of making eccentric and controversial statements, this recent outpouring hits a more somber tone, prompting many to urge him to take a step back and seek peace.
One concerned fan wrote:
“Please stop. Continue tweeting but not about Ye passing. It hurts my soul to my soles.”
Although it’s easy to dismiss Kanye’s funeral thread as another attention-grabbing moment, there’s no denying that it touches on themes of legacy, mortality, and unresolved grief — particularly surrounding his late mother, Donda West. His wish to be displayed in her home speaks volumes about the deep emotional connection he still holds.
Still, fans can breathe a bit easier knowing Ye is far from slowing down. He released his latest album Bully in March and has hinted at more music coming soon though, as always, release dates remain uncertain.
