Kanye West has been suspended for 24 hours from Instagram after going full racist against The Daily Show’s host, Trevor Noah.
Noah on his Daily show had talked about the ongoing feud that Kanye has with comedian Pete Davidson, his ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s current boyfriend. During a segment of the Daily Show, Noah exposed how this type of behavior is dangerous and how West is clearly harassing his ex-wife.
Noah at one point called West “belligerent.” Noah compared the situation to his own experience of witnessing abuse. He recalled the time people thought his mother, Patricia, was “overreacting” before being shot in the head by his stepfather. Patricia miraculously survived the attempted murder.
This ignited the rage of the rapper and he went extremely racist on Trevor. Kanye posted Trevor’s pic, describing him as a “South African comedian” and captioned it with the mocking and racist lyrics, “K**n baya my lord k**n baya K**n baya my lord K**n baya Oooo’ lord K**n baya.”
The post was taken down by Instagram and warned that should West continue to violate the policies, the company will take additional steps.
A Meta spokesperson, Joe Osborne confirmed that Instagram not only deleted the post for violating the platform’s hate speech, bullying, and harassment policies but also prohibited West from posting further, sending or receiving DMs, or commenting for 24 hours. The platform said will take further action if it becomes aware of further violations.
