Keep your Pledge APC Chieftain Urge Gov. Wike

A leader of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Chief Chukwuemeka Eze, has urged Governor Nyesom Wike to keep his pledge to Nigerians during the Peoples Democratic Party presidential primary elections in Abuja to support the winner.

In a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, Eze recalled that Wike had promised during the presidential primaries of the party to support anyone who eventually emerged as the 2023 flag bearer.

According to him, Governor Wike had said so without duress to show his loyalty and commitment to the umbrella party to win the 2023 presidential election.

He said this in light of Wike’s recent threat to make public some recent PDP events following Atiku Abubakar’s interview on a major television network.

Eze, a supporter of Rotimi Amaechi, the former minister of transportation, claimed that the Governor and his allies were nothing more than petty tyrants who had nothing new to say about the PDP or Atiku Abubakar. He also claimed that the Governor’s threats were unfounded.

He said, “Is he (Wike) going to tell us that he never wasted Rivers State funds in the wild goose chase of the PDP Presidential ticket in which he was thoroughly defeated?

“Or is he going to tell us that he never mobilised to be appointed as the Vice Presidential Candidate of the PDP? Or will Wike tell us that he never vowed to support whoever emerged as the PDP presidential flagbearer?

“In case he has forgotten, he should listen to the video containing his speech where he thundered and vowed that he would support, ‘to the fullest’, anybody who emerges PDP flagbearer.

“I have counselled Wike to pipe down and accept his fate as his past deeds, and unwarranted and unguided utterances were the major factors that worked against him in not clinching the PDP presidential ticket or becoming the vice presidential candidate to the PDP presidential flagbearer.”
