Kim Kardashian files to be legally single, Says There’s “No Possibility” of Saving her Marriage to Ye
Hours after Ye professed his flaming love for his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, the KUWTK model has filed to restore her original last name, likewise requesting that matters of child custody and property be separated from her married status.
On Thursday, Kanye West and Drake ended their long-running feud to perform together at the Larry Hoover Benefit Concert in LA. Ye played a ton of songs from his entire catalog. One of those songs was “Runaway,” but Ye started to freestyle at the end of the song while the music continued. He continued to repeat “Run right back to me!” then saying, “More specifically, Kimberly.”

Interestingly, a source told PEOPLE after Thursday’s show that Kardashian West “knows where Kanye’s mind is” but “ignores it.” The source also stated that Kim “has moved on,” but “she understands it’s tough for Kanye to deal with,” adding, “She isn’t surprised that he pleads in public for her to run back to him. She is just trying to be respectful about it.”
However, despite Ye’s public Plea, TMZ reported that Kim Kardashian West wants to be declared legally single despite her pending divorce from Kanye West.
According to reports, Kim submitted court filings on Friday, requesting that matters of child custody and property be separated from her married status. She also requested that her maiden name be restored.
According to the documents, Kim is asking the court to declare her legally single because Ye and his lawyers have “been non-responsive” to her attempts to “move this case forward to a speedy and amicable resolution.”
“Irreconcilable differences have led to the irremediable breakdown of the marriage, and there is no possibility of saving the marriage through counseling or other means,” the documents read. “The continued maintenance of technical marital status between [Kim] and [Ye] serves no useful purpose, and there is no reason to maintain the legal relationship.”
The petition states that Kim will agree to “any conditions” that the court wishes to impose in order to divorce Ye.
Meanwhile, amidst the pending divorce with Ye, Kim Kardashian is dating comic star, Pete Davidson, as they’ve been seen hanging out and spending a lot of time together lately.
