La Liga: Benzema bottle two penalties as Real Madrid inch closer to the title
Real Madrid is barely four points away from bagging a 35th La Liga title after a 3-1 victory at Osasuna on a night that saw their frontman, Karim Benzema miss two penalties within seven minutes.
David Alaba gave Madrid the lead in the 12 minutes before Ante Budimir leveled for Osasuna a minute later, but Marco Asensio put the visitors back in the front right on the stroke of half-time.
After the break, Osasuna’s keeper Sergio Herrera pulled off some heroics to keep out the inform Benzema from the spot twice, but he couldn’t deter Lucas Vazquez from turning in a third for the visitors in stoppage time.
