La Liga; Levante dampen Barcelona’s title hopes in six-goal thriller

Barcelona’s hopes of emerging as La Liga champions took a heavy blow on Tuesday as the title contenders saw a 2-0 lead against Levante nosedive into a 3-3 draw.

Lionel Messi and Pedro put the visitors ahead in the first half, following a dominant performance.

After the break, Gonzalo Melero headed one back and Jose Luis Morales volleyed leveled things for the hosts.
Barcelona retook the lead with Dembele’s powerful shot, but Sergio Leon got a late equaliser for Levante.

A win would have sent Koeman’s team to the top of the table, but the frustrating result means Barcelona moved to second, a point above third-place Real Madrid, and a point behind league leaders, Atletico Madrid who have a game in hand and are billed to be Spanish Champions for the first since 2013/2014 when they last won the league, should they win their remaining three games.
