La Liga: Vinicius Jr’s late equalizer rescues point for Real Madrid

Real Madrid looked set on losing all three points in their keenly contested game against Real Sociedad until Vinicius Jr marked his 100th Real Madrid appearance with a late equaliser to salvage an issue for the Defending La Liga Champions.

Following a barren first half which Real Madrid dominated, a much improved Real Sociedad broke the deadlock via a Portu header from Nacho Monreal’s cross.

Zinedine Zidane refurbished his front three in the 61st minute, and one of the replacements paid off as Vinicius Jr finished off Lucas Vazquez’s cross in the 89th minute ensure the Los Blancos got something out of the game.

The draw ended Madrid’s five-game winning run in all competitions as they missed out on the chance to overtake Barcelona into second place, while Real Sociedad remain in fifth place.

Real Madrid will be in action against City Rivals and table toppers Atletico Madrid this weekend in a game that promises to be a cracker.
