Lewandowski gets first World Cup goals as Poland boosts qualifying chances
Robert Lewandowski was visibly emotional after netting in his World Cup as Poland secured an important win 2-0 win over Saudi Arabia in their second Group C game.
The Barcelona forward missed a penalty in Poland’s opening game against Mexico which ended in a goalless draw and really needed to come up clutch for his country, as they look to qualify for the next round of the Tournament.
Meanwhile, Messi was on the score sheet as Argentina saw off a headstrong Mexico to leave group C pretty open.
Poland is top of the group with four points, while Argentina, who lost their first game to Saudi Arabia, is a close second, tied on three points with third-placed Saudi Arabia, with Mexico seated at the bottom with one point.
