LILU AT A CROSSROAD; AS ANGRY RESIDENTS PROTEST
Isiokwe people can been seen matching to the Palace of Igwe Godson Onyediri, Mgborogwu Oji Lilu to protest the injustice meted out to their son, Sir Ben Ezeaneche, who won last year PG election exactly a year ago and was denied the mandate through the connivance of what some described as contractors by the traditional institution. They are also against the appointment of one of their excommunicated sons, Rev Johnson Okoli, as the Caretaker Committee Chairman. They are angry that one who is excommunicated by them is picked to represent them.
In his response, the traditional ruler, Igwe Godson Onyediri, told the protesters that the former PG didn’t cancel the election as mandated. It was gathered that the Igwe and nine others had written to the Commissioner stating that the letter of cancelation came after the election and that was why it was not honored which contradicts his statement today.
