LILU IN CRISIS OVER STOLEN MANDATE: PG Seek Obiano’s Intervention as Traditionalists set for a Showdown with Igwe.
The political contest in a native town of Lilu in Ihiala local government area of Anambra state has taken a new life threating dimension in the wake of plots to impose a care taker committee over a duly elected officials by the Igwe.
The fight which has lasted for over 9 months now since the wildly acclaimed peaceful election as described by participating observers and members of the community in 2019, has left more questions than answers.
According to the elected President General of the Town, Sir Benneth Ezeaneche a top-notch banker of national repute, the election was successfully conducted in accordance with the community bye-laws, but was frowned at by a few individuals who purportedly boosted of their connection to the state government House and it’s occupant and for such, they are yet to receive their certificates of return ever since.
It was gathered that, plans are in top gear to secretly install a caretaker committee that’ll champion the course for the Igwe, turned politician controlled cabal as the royal throne assiduously lobby for community contracts for personal gains.
It was also gathered that the Traditionalists within the community has vowed to invoke deities against such plotters and supporters. Such invocations according to experts could lead to mass strange deaths.
The dully elected officials, had in pursuane of their mandates published an open letter to the executive governor to seek his urgent intervention.
According to a residential native of Abo-Lilu a sub-bob of the Town who spoke with our correspondent expressed fear of possible youth violent protests against the secreet plot to void the elected officials on December 31st, 2020.
