Liverpool clinch Carabao Cup in dramatic penalty win over Chelsea
Liverpool won a record ninth Carabao Cup title, following a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over Chelsea in an epic showpiece at Wembley.
After coming toe to toe and missing chances, the game ran its 90 minutes course and get into extra time, and eventually into penalties.
And in what will go down as a classic final, players from both sides, all very determined, had their shots on target, until, KepaArrizabalaga, who was brought on in the closing moments of extra time due to his record in saving penalties, missed the decisive spot-kick, handing Jurgen Klopp’s side their first domestic title of the season.
