Liverpool suffer lone goal defeat to relegation threatened Bournemouth

Liverpool failed to build on the momentum form last weekend as they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth, with Mohamed Salah’s missing a penalty in the second half of the game.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were brought back down to earth after last week’s 7-0 thrashing of Manchester United as the Cherries, who started the weekend bottom, climbed out of the relegation zone.

The result means Liverpool missed the chance to go fourth for the first time this season, narrowing their chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
