Manchester City escapes defeat to West Ham as title race intensifies

Manchester City fought their way back from two goals down against West Ham to snatch a point as the title race intensifies with a game left for the defending champions.

Pep Guardiola’s men saw their grip on the premier league title get threatened when Jarrod Bowen’s double put West Ham in front heading into the break.

However, four minutes after the break, Jack Grealish pulled one back for the visitors before Vladimir Coufal, got unlucky and scored an own goal to level things.

The city could have won the game with five minutes left to play, but Lukasz Fabianski saved Riyad Mahrez’s spot-kick to ensure the Hammers took a well-deserved point.

The result means a win over Aston Villa on the final day will see Citizens get crowned champions, meanwhile, a victory for second place Liverpool in their game on Tuesday will reduce the gap between the title contenders to one point, taking the title decision to the wire.
