Manchester City Makes History With Fourth EPL Title In A Row
Manchester City clinched a historic fourth consecutive English Premier League title following a comfortable 3-1 over West Ham at the Etihad Stadium on the last day of the season.
The league had gone to the wire with Arsenal maintaining momentum but needing City to flatter in order for Arterta’s side to have a go at the title.Β
A last-day defeat or draw for City would have seen Arsenal who won their final game against Everton 2-1 become champions for the first time in almost two decades.
However, Pep’s side, now accustomed to turning the tides to their favour and remaining resolute once they set their eyes on the goal, left nothing to chance as a first-half brace from Phil Foden and second-half goals from Rodri, were just enough to get the job done, with Kudus getting a consolation goal for the visitors.Β
Pep Guardiola has now guided City to six EPL titles in the last seven seasons, becoming the first team to win the league four times in a row since its inception 136Β years ago.Β
City stand a chance to become the first team to secure a domestic double back-to-back when they take on rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final on May 25, 2024 at Wembley.
