Manchester United bag FA Cup in shocking win over City
Manchester United threw the world of football into shock on Saturday, as they pulled of a deserved 2-1 victory over arch-rivals, Man City to clinch the FA Cup and end what has been an abysmal season with silverware.
Plagued with injuries and poor results, Manchester United finished the season in 8th place and we’re naturally the underdogs in the FA Cup against City, who won the EPL for a record 4th time in a row.
Having lost last season’s FA Cup final to City, it was wildly believed that this season would simply be a walkover for City, again.
But, that wasn’t to be the case, as youngsters, Alejadro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, put United 2 goals up in the first half, rattling Pep and his boys.
City came in strong after the break and eventually pulled one back courtesy of substitute, Jeremy Doku but that was all they could get out of the game, as United held on firmly, avoiding any more mistakes, to ensure that the trophy was back to Manchester with them.
It’s United’s 13th FA Cup, their first since 2016, and a nice way to appreciate their fans for the support throughout a rather tough season.
