Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo part ways

Manchester United have announced that Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo will leave the club with immediate effect, based on mutual agreement on both sides. 

United and Ronaldo confirmed this development in separate statements, in which the club thanked Ronaldo for his immense contribution across his two spells at Old Trafford, and Ronaldo expressed his love for the club, while wishing them well. 

The pretty much anticipated decision follows a controversial interview in which the 37-year-old criticized the club and declared a lack of respect for manager,Erik ten Hag.

In his both spells at Manchester United, 11 years apart, Ronaldo scored 145 goals in 346 appearances, provided 64 assists, won three premier Leagues and a champions league title. 

Meanwhile, Ronaldo currently with Portugal at the ongoiu World Cup and is set to captain them in their opening Group H game against Ghana on Thursday.
