Manchester United outclass Liverpool at Old Trafford

After suffering humiliating defeats in their last two games, Manchester United put up a highly spirited performance to defeat arch rivals, Liverpool.

Jadon Sancho’s 16 minutes strike gave United a deserved lead, which they maintained into the break. 


Eight minutes after the break, Marcus Rashford doubled the lead for the home side.

Mo Salah headed home a consolation goal for the visitors with nine minutes to stoppage time, but there was no room for a comeback, as Erik Ten Hag’s side finished with a very well deserved first three points of the season, while Jurgen Klopp’s men, who draw their first two gms of the season, still awaiting their first win of the season. 

The result also moved United ahead of Liverpool on the table.
