“Might give it all away”- Davido says as donation exceeds N185m

Top Nigerian musician, Davido Adeleke has sent a cryptic message of how he’d likely give out all the money from his N100m challenge which has raked N185m in donations.

The challenge started with a simple post, “We rise by lifting others abi? Me I don dey rise dey lifting others for the past 100 years. So, I want to know who my friends are. All of my friends one one million Naira. They said we are 30BG. If you don’t send your own, you out of here. You are gone”, has garnered N185m and counting.

The DMW boss was keen to share proof of people’s donations, disclosing the total number he’s been able to raise.

Celebrities that gifted Davido N1m includes Zlatan Ibile, Adekunle Gold, Mr. Eazi, Nengi, Chike, Teni, Charles of Play, Cubana Chiefpriest, Naira Marley, M.I, Phyno, Eniola Badmus, Nasboi, Sydney Talker, and Peruzzi.

Other donors include socialite, Obi Cubana and Femi Otedola. The singer, however, did not disclose the amount sent to him from the likes of Femi Otedola, Obi Cubana, E-Money, Patoranking, and some others.

However, in a recent tweet, Davido wrote, “Might give it all away.”

Though Davido did not state what he was referring to, there are assumptions that he’s referring to his millions considering the tweet came up in the heat of his steady credit alerts.

From the amount of money Davido has been able to raise from his crowdfunding, it is evident that the donations are as a result of his goodwill because as he said, “We rise by lifting others”.

A female Twitter user reacting to the donations received by the singer stated that he indeed deserved the gesture as he has always invested in humans. She went on to narrate how Davido gave the sum of N1M to an ailing patient in 2012 for her surgery.

“David was the first celebrity to reach out to Debbie’s crowdfunding then, he asked where we were and he came to Luth to meet us, he started in the hospital with us till like 5 pm. He gave Debbie 1m in 2012! 1m in 2012 was a lot of money,” she wrote.
