“My fight with Tiwa Savage would have been messier” – Seyi Shay

Singer Seyi Shay in an interview with Chude Jideonwo said her fight with Tiwa Savage would have been messier but she was able to mitigate the effects of the fight because she was at peace with herself at the time.

A few months ago, the duo engaged in mudslinging at a salon in Lagos after Seyi Shay walked up to Tiwa to exchange pleasantries and she replied raining curses at Shay.

Speaking to Chude, Seyi Shay admitted to have been taken aback at Tiwa’s reaction to a harmless greeting. She also noted that the events of that day weren’t a mistake as they were destined to happen.

Shay said, “I feel like if I had not worked hard over the years, trying to find my peace, praying and fasting, bringing myself up to a different vibration, trust me the outcome of that fight with Tiwa would have turned out differently.

I won’t also say that I wasn’t shocked at how a harmless hello turned into a fight. Like I only approached her to say hello because at that time a lot of us were going through stuff and Hi or hello could simply be a way of checking up on someone.

But this circumstance was very different but it wasn’t a mistake, everything that happened was meant to happen.”

Seyi Shay and Tiwa Savage recently called a truce on their long-time beef, after Tiwa Savage delivered a world-class performance of her hit single Somebody Son featuring Brandy, at the just-concluded Global Citizen Concert held at The Great Lawn, New York, United States.

Seyi Shay’s parody account posted a snippet of Tiwa’s performance with the caption, “No one: Absolute no one: Every lady on the continent.”

Tiwa complemented her gesture, signaling the end of their beef by sharing the short video with a caption. “@seyishay …. Thank you @glblctzn, thanks to everyone that came out to support, love y’all.”
