“My heart left acting a long time ago”- Tonto Dikeh

Tonto Dikeh has spoken about her frustration and challenges over her decision to resume acting.

Recall that the actress recently made an announcement that she would be gracing the TV screen in a new movie titled ‘Beggars Children’ after several years of taking a break from Nollywood. The new movie, ‘Beggar’s Children’, produced by Benedict Johnson and directed by Tchidi Tchikere and co-starring Angela Okorie. 

However, in a more recent Instagram post, the mother of one lamented about the current challenges she has had to deal with since her resumption on set. She said her complaints has nothing to do with the people she worked with because as a matter of fact, she’s been on set with one of the most amazing colleagues and crew but her problem is that her heart left a long time ago, making the task harder and frustrating now.

She also said that her new project made her miss church, which she normally wouldn’t let happen.

Tontolet wrote: “I missed church because of Nollywood… Don’t understand how I let this happen… This film thing is frustrating… But am grateful to work with amazing colleagues but this life isn’t for me… I look and feel sick…

My director and producer have been so amazing to me on the set. Actually, 1 of the most professional crew and set I’ve seen in years… BUT MY PROBLEM IS MY HEART LEFT A LONG TIME AGO… It’s hard now…”

Tonto’s last known movie was the Pascal Amanfo-directed film, ‘Celebrity Marriage’. Tonto Dikeh took a break from her acting career after she welcomed her son, King Andrea and later ventured into modeling before her marriage crashed. Since then, she has been focusing on personal development, her humanitarian foundation and undergoing several leadership programmes.

Tonto recently said that motherhood is one area she can never fail and she assured the public that she is raising a son any woman would feel safe with. 

She posted, “I am raising a son that your daughter will be safe with. I promise.” Accompanied with the caption, “Motherhood is one area I can’t fail. I will never fail. I am intentional about it. Just like so many of you strong warriors, I learnt on the job…

There is no manual to being the best mum… Just be present, patient, loving, not toxic, intentional and most importantly knowing that this “MOTHERHOOD” is a “PARTNERSHIP” between you and GOD. Collaborate with God”

I want the world to be a much better and safer place for women and men too”.
