Net Honours 2021: Davido named ‘Most Searched Male Musician’ of the year twice in a row

Davido emerges as the winner of the Most Searched Male Musician after beating other singers in the same category, which includes Wizkid, Olamide, Burna Boy, Phyno, and Ajebo Hustlers.

Since Davido released his breakout single ‘Dami Duro’ in 2011, not many African pop singers can boast more top-10 hits and streams than Davido. He has broken several streaming records and won some of the most significant awards on the continent, including the BET Best International Act Award in 2014 and 2018. Others include the MTV Europe Music Awards for Best African Act in 2017 and Song of the Year, Artiste of the Year and Best Pop Single at the Headies in 2018, and other continental and international awards.

In one month, his third studio album, ‘A Better Time’, hit 213.2 million streams across the five major music streaming sites, Davido announced in December 2020.

The video of his 2020 single ‘FEM’, which became the unofficial anthem during the #EndSARS protest, surpassed five million views within the first week of release.

This is the second time in a row that the DMW Records Boss will be winning the title.
