Newell’s Old Boys Ready To Take Messi Back

Since the news of Messi wanting to leave Barcelona broke, fans of various clubs have been harbouring dreams of seeing Messi play for their team come next season.

The lastest club to join the train is Messi’s boyhood club, Newell’s Old Boys, the Argentine club Messi played for from 1994-2000 before joining Barcelona in 2001.

Messi, a huge fan of his home town club, joined the club when he was just 6 and scored almost 500 goals for “The Lepers”(La Lepra) during his time there.

After watching their youth product go on to make huge exploits at Barcelona, the Argentine team are all set and very willing to welcome him back home and to show just how serious they are, supporters of the club took to the streets of Rosario to parade, carrying placards with slogans such as  “Your dream, our desire” written on them as they push to convince Lionel Messi to return to his boyhood club.

While Manchester City seems to be the favourites to sign the six-time Ballon d’Or winner should he eventually leave Barca, Newell’s haven’t given up hope on a possible reunion with the attacking powerhouse despite the huge price tag attached to him.

Messi might still have lots of love for his former club, but is there a slight possibility that Messi will go back if he leaves Barca?
