Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra welcomed their baby girl, Malti Marie, home on Mother’s Day weekend after she spent more than 100 days in the newborn intensive care unit.
The couple commemorated the milestone by sharing her first photo on social media, alongside the statement;
“On this Mother’s Day we can’t help but reflect on these last few months and the rollercoaster we’ve been on, which we now know, so many people have also experienced.
Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is.
We are overjoyed that our little girl is finally home and we would like to thank every doctor, nurse, and a specialist at Rady Children’s La Jolla and Cedar Sinai Los Angeles who were there every step of the way.
Our next chapter begins now, our baby is truly a badass! Let’s get it MM mommy and daddy loves you. Happy mother’s day to all the mothers and caretakers in my life and out there..you make it look so easy and there is no rather do this with than you @nickjonas I love you”
In his post, Jonas gave a special shoutout to Chopra, writing: “Babe, you inspire me (in) every way, and you are taking to this new role with such ease and steadiness. I am so grateful to be on this journey with you. You are already an incredible mother. Happy Mother’s Day. I love you.”
Chopra similarly showed gratitude to her husband: “There is no one I’d rather do this with than you. Thank you for making me a mama (Nick Jonas) I love you,” she captioned her post.
Chopra and Jonas have been married for three years. They tied the knot in 2018 in an extravagant three-day affair in India. The couple announced in January that they were “overjoyed” to have welcomed their first child via surrogacy.
