Nollywood Actor Baba Ijesha Arrested For Alleged Rape Case

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested Nollywood actor, Olarenwaju James a.k.a Baba Ijesha, for defiling a minor.

The Nation reports Lagos Police spokesman CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi noted the 48-year-old actor was arrested after a defilement case was reported by Princess Adekola Adekanye at Sabo Police Station on April 19.

Based on preliminary findings, the popular comic actor had been committing the shameful act against the minor since she was seven years old. 

Adejobi further explained that Baba Ijesha was captured by a CCTV camera and that he has already confessed to the crime. However, the case has been transferred to the gender unit of the state CID, Panti, Yaba for proper investigation.

Chief Press Secretary to Governor Gboyega Akosile said: “This is not good news out of the Lagos State @PoliceNG Command, which announced the arrest of popular Nollywood actor, Olarenwaju James aka Baba Ijesha, for allegedly defiling a minor. He has confessed to the crime. A CCTV captured him in the complainant’s house.”

The arrest of this Nollywood actor has elicited negative reactions amongst his fans as they hope that he is charged and served duly in the court of law
