Nollywood Actor David Osagie Confirmed Dead Hours After Filming On Set

It’s a black Wednesday in Nollywood as they lose yet another prominent veteran to the cold hands of death less than 24 hours after appearing on a movie set.

His death was announced by a fellow actor, Ngozi Eze, who explained that the actor was not sick but slept and didn’t wake up the following day after he had appeared on a movie set on the previous day.

“I hate to say this but we have lost another Nollywood king, Sir David. He wasn’t sick, it just happened. How do we explain this, another loss in Nollywood? Oh Lord have mercy. I mourn again oh. Another king role interpreter is gone. What is this oh God.”

Another Nollywood actress, Ibiwari Etuk, who seemed to be aware of the development, said the actor had finished filming and went to rest, and he never woke up again.

She wrote: “This can’t be explained o. He filmed yesterday o went back to rest hoping to resume the shoot today but never woke up. Another king role interpreter is gone …. What is this o God? ”

The deceased who was also a scriptwriter, producer and professional talent developer. He is survived by a wife and children.

His death is coming hours after actors Chinedu Bernard and Chima Precious slumped and died in an Enugu church. Reacting to this, the president of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, Rollas called on Nollywood stars to take a special day to call on God in prayers.

Rollas set up a three-man committee to design a link that members of the Guild would join from all states. This committee is headed by Apostle Eucharia Anunobi. Other Myers are: Pascal Amanfo and Arinze Okonkwo.
