OAP, Dotun Weighs in on Rema and DJ Neptune Record Issue

Popular On-air personality, Dotun has gotten himself in the middle of Rema and DJ Neptune’s altercation.

Empire earlier reported that Rema called out DJ Neptune in a Twitter post, alleging that he released their song together without his consent. Rema disclosed that Neptune had already tagged him in an Instagram post he made on his page @deejayneptune on Monday, announcing the tracklist for his sophomore album ‘Greatness 2.0’ and he kicked against it yet they still went ahead to drop the song, taking his humility for granted.

Reacting to the issue, Dotun opined that this issue is just a mere miscommunication. He said, he has known Rema since he hosted his first listening party, but he also knows that Rema needs to find better ways to express himself. He added that social media users were not there when they recorded the song together so he shouldn’t have made it public.

“I love Rema a lot. I hosted his first-ever listening. He just needs to find a better approach to things like this. You all recorded this together, we were not there. He also needs to address things with his representatives. Trust me, this won’t be more than a mere miscommunication”, Dotun wrote.

Rema wasted no time in replying to the OAP, stating that he wasn’t trying to be disrespectful but was only cross about how his art was released without permission. Rema wrote:

“OG we didn’t record it together, neither was I paid, neither did I sign any document, neither did the producer ask for my consent before releasing my stems. I was crossed, I’m not a hothead, I’m just a kid vouching for my Art that’s all, I’m not a disrespectful person”.

The conversation didn’t stop there, as social media users had a thing or two to say about Dotun’s opinion.
